Abstract:
The Federal Court of Australia (FCA) has approved a class action settlement, with settlement sum of $30m, between the Palm Islanders and State of Queensland, concerning various breaches of the (CTH) Racial Discrimination Act 1975. The FCA found that the settlement was fair and reasonable in the interests of the class members.
