Australian Capital Territory Court of Appeal

Judgment Date:
2017-03-22

Abstract:
The Supreme Court of Australian Capital Territory Court of Appeal (ACTCA) has imposed a total effective sentence of 6 years' imprisonment with a non-parole period of 3 years upon an offender for the offences of four counts of burglary, theft and money laundering. The ACTCA found that the sentences were manifestly inadequate because the non-parole period did not reflect appropriate relationship to the total sentence.
