Abstract:
A company which sold more than 50,000 pieces of fake Aboriginal art has been fined $2,300,000 for breaching (CTH) Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Sch 2 by making false or misleading representations. The company represented that each of the products were hand-painted by Aboriginal artisans and that they were made in Australia when in fact products were manufactured in Indonesia.
