Judgment Date:
2018-11-05

Abstract:
The High Court of Australia (HCA) has revoked the special leave to appeal granted to the Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police and a police informer favouring them to appeal the Supreme Court of Victoria Court of Appeal's decision. The HCA found that the public interest in preserving a police informer's anonymity must be subordinated to the integrity of the criminal justice system.
