Eta067 V Republic of NauruHigh Court of Australia
Judgment Date: 2018-10-17
Abstract: The High Court of Australia (HCA) has unanimously dismissed the appeal of a Bangladeshi national who claimed fear of persecution of harm by reason of appellant's affiliation with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and appellant's actual or imputed opposition to the political group, the Awami League. The HCA found that the Secretary of the Department of Justice and Border Control and Refugee Status Review Tribunal were correct in finding that appellant was not a person to whom Republic of Nauru owed complementary protection.
